Virtualization software is also called a "virtual machine". In the context of this site, it is a program that lets you run a copy of Windows on Mac or Linux. It is actually a real copy running of Windows on top of your other operating system. So in this "virtual" Windows we are able to run RaceTab where as in normal Mac mode you can't.

Common software for Mac virtual Windows includes Boot Camp, Parallels, and VMWare Fusion.
